The Yamaha XSR is an exclusive range of street scrambler motorcycle series from the Japanese motorcycle & scooter brand Yamaha. The series of motorcycles features a decent range of power, sporty and comfortable riding ergonomics, and superior control on two wheels. The Yamaha XSR125 is introduced as the smallest model in this XSR series that is designed to ignite the rider's passion for the open roads and enhance the riding excitement even in the day-to-day informal rides.

The Yamaha XSR125 gorgeously holds the ‘Sport Heritage’ badge of the Yamaha XSR series which describes a particular design profile that is elegantly crafted with a Retro-Neo DNA. In the rest, the new XSR155 is profiled on a sporty delta-box frame that is fully naked, and the unnecessary body panel is just ignored. Consequently, it smartly omits excessive side panels. The tail is fully naked but obviously includes a small but sharply visible tail lamp and a full-size registration plate hanger on the rear wheel mudguard. Yamaha XSR125 – Frame, Wheel, Brake, & Suspension System:

The Yamaha XSR125 is the smallest model in the Yamaha XSR lineup that is designed on a delta-box aluminum frame. It’s the same frame also adopted in the Yamaha XSR155, MT15, and R15 series but here a few dimensions are obviously different. So, the aluminum swingarm was also hired from those models. But the sub-frame is different to showcase its retro-scrambler profile.

The wheel, brake, and suspension system both the XSR125 and XSR155 share the same components. Here the wheels are fitted with all-alloy rims and street-biased dual-terrain type wider tubeless tires in measure of 110/70-17 in the front and 140/70-17 at the rear. In the braking system, both wheels feature hydraulic disc brakes but unfortunately lack ABS enhancements.

In the suspension setup, the motorcycle comes with a 37mm USD Telescopic fork in the front, and at the rear, it features a linked mono suspension setup. The rear suspension is adjustable for a few steps. Thus, the Yamaha XSR155 is smartly packed with modern features in its wheel, brake, and suspension system.

Yamaha XSR125 – Engine Performance & Features:

The new Yamaha XSR125 is a modern commuter motorcycle that comes with a sporty urban scrambler-like design. The engine is a performance-oriented and fuel-efficient engine. However, it’s a 124cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC 4-valve, fuel-injected engine. 

The engine features a bore & stroke of 52.0mm x 58.6 mm and a compression ratio of 11.2:1. Here the clutch system is wet multi-plate clutch and the transmission is paired with a 5-speed gear transmission in the pattern of 1-N-2-3-4-5-6. The engine starting is featured with an electric start system only.

In the performance figures, the new XSR125 engine is tweaked to deliver the maximum power of 11.0kW at 10,000RPM and the torque of 11.5NM at 8,000RPM. According to Yamaha, the XSR125 engine has been optimized for smooth torque delivery, better fuel efficiency, and improved on-road performance. The Yamaha Blue Core feature further enhances its capabilities. As a result, the motorcycle can provide a more enjoyable riding experience.
