This motorcycle has a long history in the sports segment in Bangladesh. It was then a dream motorcycle for that generation. But for some reason, it was discontinued in Bangladesh. Long story short it came back. After the cc limitation upgrade to 400cc Hero came back with the new upgraded version of this model. This year Hero launched the new Hero Karizma XMR 210 in Bangladesh. It was a grand launching event and one of the biggest launching events of this year. Bikers and bike enthusiasts from all over Bangladesh join this launching event. This motorcycle is the first higher cc sports segment motorcycle in Bangladesh after upgrading the cc limitation to 400cc.

Looks, Graphics & Design

When it comes to choosing a bike, many people prefer the looks and design of the bike. So when it comes to looks, Karizma will give the goosebumps. Because you remember the vintage and historic Karizma. After that, it's getting better and better day by day. Looks, graphics and in design Hero changes a lot of things. 

Now it looks quit aggressive in the front but from the side view it looks sober. The muscular stance and crisp fairing panels of the Karizma XMR 210 make it stand out in the crowd. It turns heads on the roadways since it comes in striking hues like bright yellow and red.

In Bangladesh, there are three colors available, Iconic Yellow, Turbo Red and Matte Phantom Black. But the yellow one is the most eye catchy look in all of the three. 

Engine & Power

This is a big motorcycle with bigger engine. When it comes to power and torque this is a beast on road. Hero is giving 4 Stroke, 4 Valve, Single Cylinder, Liquid Cooled, DOHC, Fuel Injection engine. In terms of power this engine can produce about 25.5 PS @9250 rpm and 20.4 Nm @7250 rpm.

Engine power for a street sports motorcycle is quite good enough. This engine is much more powerful right now. For a higher CC street sports motorcycle this engine is powerful enough. The engine is so much more refined and smooth on acceleration. The transmission consists of a six-speed gear setup arranged as 1-N-2-3-4-5-6, and the motorcycle features an electric start system.

Wheels, Brakes and Suspension

In terms of wheels, Hero has absolutely astonishing work. They installed alloy rims with wider profile wheels and street tires. This comes with tubeless tires and in the front Hero has given 100/80-17, in the rear they have given 140/70-17 size tires. 

Now on the brakes, Hero installed the wider hydraulic disc brakes both in front and rear. In the front there is a 300mm and in rear there is a 230mm petal discs for the braking. To enhance the braking system Hero also installed dual channel ABS for safety.

In the front Hero has giving Telescopic Front Forks with a diameter of 37 mm with Anti Friction Bush. On the rear there is a Gas Charged Mono Shock, 6 Step Pre-Load Adjustable suspensions. 

Chassis, Features and Technology

Drawing inspiration from the KARIZMA DNA, HERO has incorporated track racing features into this motorcycle. This motorcycle featured with steel trellis frame and a steel tubular swing-arm. This frame has been the meticulously offer the handling and controlling.

This motorcycle is equipped with lots of features. From the looks this bike has aerodynamics which enhances the performance on the road. For better braking Hero added dual channel ABS, Fuel injection, liquid cooled, slipper clutch, LED with DRL headlights, LED indicators, three part handle bar, split seat etc. 

Hero has a full LCD digital speedometer which gives you the full information about the motorcycle. Like on speedometer, it shows fuel, speed, rpm, side stand indicator, abs indicator, trip meter, mileage, taco meter, average speedometer, etc. 

Riding Experience

First of all before the test ride of this motorcycle, I have to say something about this motorcycle. Hero Karizma was one of the dream motorcycles for Bangladeshi bikers when it was first launched in India. However, due to CC limitations, this motorcycle wasn’t launched in   Bangladesh. 

When we started our journey of this test ride review we were surprised. Surprised about its performance on the road. Everyone expected that this will be a high-performance high-cc motorcycle. This motorcycle can give you much more of that. 

Let’s talk about looks and design. Hero keeps it simple but sophisticated. The Outlook of this motorcycle is decent and not so much complicated. Front to tail this bike looks aggressive with a gentlemen look.

You can feel the aggressiveness from the look where they designed the H-shaped LED DRL headlight for the looks.  Not only that Hero tried everything and added so many things like engine cowl, side panel, mudguard etc.

This is a sports commuter or tour-based motorcycle. For that reason, this motorcycle is a bit of bulky and bigger than another motorcycle. But you can easily maneuver in the city or highway. 

The three-part handlebar gives you confidence on city or highway rides. If you ride in a traffic jam or on the highway you can ride without any hassle. Because of its slipper clutch, it is easy to ride on a jam or highway. 

Talking about headlights, Hero gives LED DRL projection head light which gives you pretty much a good amount of illumination. You can cruise at 80/90 kmph. But I thought it should be better or can be better. But one feature is you can surprised that headlights will automatically be on when you ride through the dark even its the daytime. 

Don’t forget about the engine of this beast. Maybe some of you can’t agree with me because you can say that a 150cc motorcycle gives much more performance. But you forget that this is a higher cc motorcycle which built for performance.

Hero installed a 210cc, 4-stroke, 4 Valve, Single Cylinder, Liquid Cooled, DOHC engine. From this engine it can produce about 25.15 Bhp @ 9250 RPM and 20.40 NM @ 7250 RPM torque. 

But in the low rpm, you can’t feel the power of this motorcycle. You can feel the power after the 5,000 rpm. This engine is so much smooth it can easily speed up to 90/110 kmp/h. The top speed of this motorcycle can get up to 150kmp/h.

Now come to the braking and balance. For the braking Hero is giving disc brake both front and rear. In the front there is 300mm and rear there is 230mm disc brake. For better braking Hero also equipped these brakes with dual-channel ABS.

For those who thinking about the wheels, it will not disappoint you on riding. Hero added a 100/80-17 section front tire and in the rear they added 140/70-17 section tire. The MRF tires give you much confidence on the roads and corner when you needed most. 

With these braking systems, Hero is also equipped with better suspension. In the front, there is a conventional telescopic front fork with an anti-friction bush which is a diameter of 37mm. But I think it could be better in USD suspension. On the other hand in rear suspension gas charged mono shock, 6 step pre-load adjustable.

With these suspensions, you can easily maneuver your motorcycle through the path holes. One thing about the seat of this motorcycle is it's pretty much comfortable. There is a split seat with a comfortable seating position. The riding seat is much bigger which is comfortable for the rider. The pillion seat is a little bit higher from rider but this seat is much more comfortable than other sports motorcycles. 

There is a grab rail with the pillion seat which a good feature in this motorcycle. Talking about the feature is one of the premium feature is LCD display. This is one of the premium features of this motorcycle. It shows all the necessary information. 

In the display, it shows the speed, rpm, fuel indicator, taco meter, trip meter, average speed, mileage, ABS, and other information shown in the digital cluster. Another feature of this motorcycle is the side stand indicator. It’s a safety feature for the riders. Where if you don’t up the stand, the motorcycle will not start. I think this is futuristic for rider’s safety.

Now let's come to the Pros and cons of this motorcycle – 

Pros: 

• Well and attracting designed
• LED projection DRL H-shaped Headlight
• LCD with color-changing mode
• Adjustable windshield

Cons:

• Lacks traction control or a quick shifter
• Lack of mileage
• No USD suspension
• Build quality

So this is all about the Hero Karizma 210. If you want a sports bike with proper performance from it this motorcycle is not for you. On the performance, this bike is average on the road. But for day-to-day rides or on the highway this bike is good enough to perform.
