Honda, the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world, has always put paramount emphasis on safety. Toward the realization of its global vision, to “realize the joy and freedom of mobility and a sustainable society where people can enjoy life”, with the approach to road safety commitment for “zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles globally by 2050”.

The company is striving to realize a collision-free society and has committed itself to safety initiatives that include both hardware areas such as technology development and human-centric areas such as human-focused safety promotion activities. 

In Bangladesh, Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL) has been at the forefront of traffic safety initiatives namely providing safe-ride training to riders, organizing awareness-building campaigns, and publishing awareness videos and promotions on social media platforms routinely.

The company recently organized a two-day-long (8-9 July 2022) travel safety awareness campaign before the long EID holiday at six key locations in Dhaka, with the theme “নিয়ম মেনে চালাবো গাড়ি, নিরাপদে ফিরবো বাড়ি”(To ride vehicle rightly, to reach home safely). A total of 4,760 commuters and pedestrians were provided safety rule leaflets, reflector stickers, and water.

About BHL’s road safety initiatives:

BHL’s mission is to provide both the joy of free movement and safety to our customers. Since May 2019, BHL has conducted in-depth research on road accidents and has found that a lack of awareness of safe riding practices is a root cause of traffic collisions.

To mitigate this, BHL has been providing knowledge, skills, and awareness of safe riding in our programs. The company has offered hands-on training on proper bike riding to over 4,000 riders till now.

BHL distributes safety advice booklets for free with every Honda bike and is working to ensure one safety advisor at every dealer point who will advise every Honda customer on safe riding practices.
