Bajaj Auto Limited launched its NS series in 2012 launching the Pulsar NS200. This NS series initiated a new dimension of craze among the Pulsar lovers. Even not in India but also in Bangladesh the craze raised to the peak though it didn’t come in our country due to our cc restriction. But our expectation was at least Bajaj will develop a 150cc of Pulsar NS to grab Bangladeshi market.

Whatsoever our hope didn’t turn into reality that time and Bajaj launched all new Pulsar AS series. From 2016 Bajaj Pulsar AS150 got available in our market. The series Pulsar AS designed taking the NS series as the base. But the AS actually designed for different purpose that is adventure riding or touring. For that reason it tagged as AS that is Adventure Sports.

On the other side the NS is tagged for Naked Sports, so it’s a naked series for regular street riding. So both of the bike exterior, purpose, engine performance and tuning is different. That’s why our street-stars are craving for the availability of Pulsar NS series in our land.

Therefore hopeful thing is that we are quite near to get the permission to use bikes up to 165cc in Bangladesh. So there is a hope to get Pulsar NS160 available in Bangladesh soon. In sequence here is our detail discussion on Bajaj Pulsar NS160 features.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 - Looks, Design and Appearance
In appearance the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is damn gorgeous with HE-MAN attitude. Its angry style manly attitude introduces it as definitely male. Form top to bottom and head to tail it designed uniquely which covers the entire attitude from NS200.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is all muscled naked designed sports model. The headlamp, tail lamp, fuel tank and body panel designed on iconic theme of Bajaj Pulsar series. But NS series have more muscle, curve and sharp edge than the rounded shape of old predator. Therefore Pulsar NS160 looks more aggressive and ferocious in appearance.
Moreover the body dimension and frame also got dramatically change here in NS series therefore NS160. The frame is twin tube diamond frame with more casts where ground clearance and wheelbase is different from other model. The iconic fuel tank got muscle and extended bikini cowling. It designed both with glossy and matt finished plastic panels.

The engine also got two bikini air scoops for better air-cooling and a plastic belly pan which looks sportier. The significant point of attraction in NS160 is it also omitted the large size exhaust pipe. The under belly exhaust just has positioned behind the engine which has no extension after the swing-arm assembly.
Another change that is it omitted the conventional design of rear mud guard. Here it slashed and attached directly with swing-arm. It looks damn gorgeous with sharp design of rear panel covered with iconic slashed tail lamp.
Here we should mention the new headlamp assembly which is damn sharp and aggressive with chin attached two unique pilot lamps.
In addition the seat is designed sportier; it segmented but seems ensured the comfort issues. So overall Bajaj Pulsar NS160 got all the shades of NS200 which is still iconic but sharper and more aggressive.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 - Wheel, Brake & Suspension System
The wheels of Bajaj Pulsar NS160 are all alloy with ten spoke supported rim. Their designs are same like NS200 but dimensions are different. The front wheel size quite same but the rear tire is narrower than the NS200 and is 110mm wider. Here both the tires are tubeless type.
The braking system of Pulsar NS160 is quite different from NS200. NS200 designed with hydraulic disk brake on both wheels. But NS160 comes with hydraulic disk brake in front wheel and the rear one is drum type.

As a sport bike Pulsar NS160 designed with rear mono shock absorber with 120mm travel. The mono-shock directly connected with the swing arm where it charged with Nitrox gas canister. According to Bajaj it ensures better suspension characteristics. Here the front shock absorber of NS160 is telescopic hydraulic type shock absorber where its fork travel is 130mm.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 - Riding Behavior & Control
The riding posture of Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is neither full sporty nor commuter styled upright. The riding posture is quite blended with upright and sporty mode. The handlebar of NS160 is split type but it positioned quite in upright mode where the grip height is lowered than the commuter upright mode.
On counter the rider seating position is upright but footrest position is quite in sporty mode. So riders have to ride the bike in semi-sports mode. So the riding behavior of NS160 is quite aggressive but seems comfortable. Here of-course this mode of riding allows superb control over the bike and can play beyond the track.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160 - Engine & Performance
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 comes with all new 160.3cc engine. It comes quite in sequence of NS200 but of-course differs from NS150 or AS150 engine. Pulsar NS160 engine is a single cylinder, four-stroke engine.
The engine is equipped with four valves ignited with twin spark plug that termed as DTS-I (Digital Twin Spark Ignition). The cooling system of NS160 is oil-cooled. Here this feature is hired from Pulsar NS200 which is not available in NS150 or AS150.

Due to DTS-I feature NS160 CDI comes with multi-mapping which allows ready throttle response in its all operating RPM range. Moreover its viscous air filter allows easy flow of air in intake manifold which helps the engine for quick throttling.
Whatsoever at the end this 160cc engine can produce peak power of 15.5PS of power and 14.6NM of torque. According to Bajaj it is enough for this capacity engine to rule over this segment.
