Yamaha FZS V5 Fi Hybrid – Intro :

The new Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid is an elegantly designed motorcycle that has been newly introduced in the popular Yamaha FZ-S 150 lineup. Yamaha FZ-S is a vastly popular motorcycle series in the urban commuter motorcycle segment, and the new FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid version continues that legacy beholding the same muscular and aggressive streetfighter design. Besides, the new FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid version also showcases some new design elements in its slightly different exterior profile.

However, the new motorcycle represents a refreshed look and appearance, though it is essentially a revision of the existing FZ-S V4 model. But it showcases some attractively crafted design enhancements and a new graphic scheme on its exterior. However, despite the new appearance, the motorcycle shares the same chassis, engine, wheels, and suspension systems featured in the existing Yamaha FZ-S V4 model. 

Nevertheless, the new Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid comes with an all-new headlamp assembly similar to the FZ-S V4 model that features a new shape of headlamp housing fitted with a sharp LED headlamp and DRL setup. It also gets all-LED turn indicator flashers now mounted on the fuel tank air ducts. The fully digital TFT ODO is now an all-new unit that features enhanced display parameters and is enhanced with Bluetooth Y-Connect connectivity with the user's mobile phone.

The wider pipe handlebar now comes with more updated switch arrangements and that integrate ODO features. Next, the fuel tank remains the same design featured in the V4 version. It features a dented and muscular design and is crafted with air ducts on both sides. Then, the single-piece curved seat is complemented with a heavy grabrail, the rear wheel features a tire hugger, and the iconic exhaust muffler and the engine underbelly cowling enhance its sporty attire. Thus, FZ-S V5 FI Hybrid comes with its identical design that is now refreshed with new color and graphical schemes.

Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid – Frame, Wheel, Brake, & Suspension System :

Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid is a recent addition to the Yamaha FZ-S motorcycle series. This new edition comes with some technical enhancements and exterior refreshments. Meanwhile, the chassis, wheels, brakes, and suspension system of the motorcycle remain almost similar to the existing FZ-S V4 model.

However, the new Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid edition features all-alloy rims paired with wider tubeless tires in the measure of 100/80-17 size at the front and 140/60-17 size at the rear. The braking system features hydraulic disk braking system on both wheels, and the entire system is enhanced with dual-channel ABS safety feature.

Coming to the suspension system, the motorcycle comes with the 41mm upright telescopic fork suspension in the front and a preload-adjustable mono suspension at the rear. Thus, Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid features almost the same frame, wheel, brake, & suspension systems featured in the FZ-S V4 model.

Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid – Engine Performance & Features :

The new Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid is an updated motorcycle in the series that comes with some advanced technical features attached to its engine. However, the engine construction remains unchanged from previous editions of motorcycles in the series. It features a 149cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, SOHC (Single Overhead Cam), and fuel-injected engine. The engine is featured with a wet multi-plate clutch system and is paired with a 5-speed gear transmission in the pattern of 1-N-2-3-4-5. The engine starts with an electric start only.

However, the new Yamaha FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid engine now has been updated with a smart motor generator that ensures silent starting and enables a power assist feature to accelerate the motorcycle smoothly. It also allows a switchable automatic stop and start system in traffic mode that increases fuel economy. Meanwhile, the engine is also tweaked to meet better emission standards and is compatible with E20 fuel. 

In the other features, the new FZ-S FI V5 Fi Hybrid engine is now enhanced with a traction control system that can ensure riding safety in uneven road conditions. In the performance figures, the engine now can deliver the maximum power and torque figures of 12.2BHP at 7,250RPM and 13.3N.m at 5,500RPM. According to Yamaha, the FZ-S V5 Fi Hybrid engine has been more optimized for smooth torque delivery, better fuel efficiency, and improved on-road performance. Therefore, this dynamic machine now redefines the meaning of exhilaration in riding even in day-to-day commuting.
