Suzuki GN 125 Overview

Introduction

Suzuki GN 125 is a cruiser. It is one of the classic and most attractive 125cc cruisers of all time. Over the years, the cruiser market in Bangladesh has grown significantly. Many adventure lovers are opting for cruisers because they are comfortable and very fun to ride on the highways. Now if you go on the highway, you are expected to a see cruiser. Cruisers of popular companies are generally more preferred over fairly new companies. Although the prices of these cruisers are slightly higher than other bikes, people who are enthusiastic about traveling prefer cruisers.

Suzuki is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. The Suzuki Hayabusa and the Suzuki GSX-R series are two of the most famous series of motorcycles in the world. Over the years Suzuki has also made quite some money with the Suzuki Gixxer series in the South Asian region. The Suzuki GSX 125 was released during the summer of 2020. As soon as the release, people had polarizing opinions about the bike.

Key Features:

The Suzuki GN 125 is a 125cc bike that was made completely with the classic design in mind. The bike has a very comfortable single long seat. The seat is long enough for the pillion to seat comfortably at the back. The bike also has a very big grab rail, which also doubles as a rail rack for top cases and tail bags. However, a small sissy bar might have been a great addition to the bike.

The Suzuki GN 125 comes with a completely classic instrument cluster. The rev counter, speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge are all analog. Although the analog counters do enhance the classic look of the bike, a digital odometer, fuel gauge, and digital speedometer would have been great for the bike.

The Suzuki GN 125 comes with a complete halogen set up. The headlight is a large circular classic looking light. The light from the headlight should be enough for night rides at highways. The taillight is also a large halogen light that comes in a very peculiar shape (almost looks like an apple). The indicators are also made in a classic design.

Physical Attributes:

As the Suzuki GN 125 is a cruiser, it has a low saddle-height. Although the seat height is quite low, the ground clearance is expected to be enough for Bangladesh. The bike also has a fuel tank of only 10.30liters. The fuel tank may be enough for city rides or short rides out of town, but for long rides, the tank capacity may pose some problems.

The length, width, height, and weight of the Suzuki GN 125 are 1945mm, 815mm, 1110mm, and 107kg respectively. Although the bike is a cruiser, it is quite light and nimble. The bike was made to conquer the highways, not the city streets, hence the weight being less will be a big plus point on reducing the fatigue. The bike also has a very short wheelbase of 1280mm, compared to other cruisers.

Engine and Transmission:

The Suzuki GN 125 comes with a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 2-valve, and 125cc engine. The engine is air-cooled. The engine pumps out around 13BHP of power at 9500rpm and 10Nm of torque at 6500rpm. Although the bike is carbureted, the engine is quite smooth. It is expected to have an economy of around 45kmpl combined.

The Suzuki GN 125 has a wet multi-plate clutch system. It has a 5-speed gearbox, which is suitable for cruising. The bike is expected to have a top speed of around 105-110kmph.

Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:

The Suzuki GN 125 has a disc-drum brake setup. The front brake is a disc brake, and the rear brake is a drum. The front brake is expected to perform quite well, as the disc has a large radius. The rear wheel would have performed its best if it had a disc brake instead of a drum.

The front of the Suzuki GN 125 has telescopic forks as the suspension and the rear has two spring-loaded suspensions. The front suspension is expected to respond well as most telescopic suspensions do. The rear suspension will respond well as well, as it comes with adjustability.

The Suzuki GN 125 has alloy wheels. The front and the rear wheels have 2.75/18 and 3.50/16 section tires respectively. The tire setup is a bit disappointing, as the bike would have had the best performance with 3.00 and 4.00 section tires.

Target Audience:

The Suzuki GN 125 is targeted at cruiser lovers and travelers. This bike is a traveling bike and was made for the highways. This bike was not made for the city streets. This bike is for the ones who go out for trips every week, and love to travel in style.
