Introduction

Back in 2010, if you told me that Bangladesh would have its sports bike in production, I would have told you to go see a doctor. However, Roadmaster has achieved this feat. In 2019, Roadmaster introduced the Roadmaster Rapido 165, a fully-faired motorcycle. What makes this even more remarkable is that it is a bike made in Bangladesh. There is also an older sibling in the Roadmaster Rapido 150, a naked sportbike, but that's a separate story altogether. The bike price in BD for these models is an exciting aspect to consider.

Now returning to the Roadmaster Rapido 165. It is a fully-faired sports bike offered by Roadmaster Bangladesh, a motorcycle company based in Bangladesh. This bike made its debut in 2019 at the Dhaka International Trade Fair. It generated significant buzz within the biking community, largely because it hails from Bangladesh, and has made a significant impact in the 150 cc to 165 cc segment, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Roadmaster Rapido 150. The Roadmaster bike price in Bangladesh adds to its appeal.

Key features:

The bike appears like a dragon when observed from afar. However, from the front, it evokes thoughts of the Panigale V4 or the GPX Demon (a visual replica of the Panigale V4). Nonetheless, the Roadmaster also boasts its distinctive characteristics and design elements, making it among the best 160cc bikes in Bangladesh.

Diving deeper into the design factor, you will see that the Rapido 165 has a dead-on sports graphics design. The low ground clearance, the smaller length, and the wider body also contribute to the sporty look of the bike. And regardless of how much you stare at it, you will have a hard time believing how far the Bangladeshi technology has come.

The bike comes with Combined Braking System (CBS). This function means that the rear and the front wheel will brake simultaneously when the rear brake lever is engaged. This is a form of safety feature that allows riders to brake without the wheels slipping along the road when a single brake is used.

Another key feature is the dual-LED headlight. The headlight is quite an important part of the bike and the fairly outdated Halogen headlights are still used in most bikes available in Bangladesh. But Rapido 165 offers dual LED headlight, each for high and low beam respectively.

The bike comes in three color variants:

  • Halloween Black
  • Aesthetic Blue
  • Race Red

All of the mentioned colors come with the race-style graphical paint job. All of the colors look like a bike taken right out of the MotoGP race track.

Physical Attributes:

The bike is not at all similar to its elder brother, the Roadmaster Rapido 150. This is a that was developed from the ground up as a sports bike. It has a clip-on handlebar with a wheelbase of 1320 mm and a weight of 133 kg. All of the aforementioned attributes refer to the fact that this is a bike that is made for short enjoyable quick rides and not long highway rides.

The height, length, and width of the Roadmaster Rapido 165 are 1075 mm, 1925 mm, and 750 mm respectively.

Engine and Transmission:

The Roadmaster Rapido 165 is powered by a 4 stroke Single Cylinder Carburetor engine. It has both kickstart and self-start with Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) technology. Its engine generates 15.3 bhp of power at 8000 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. It also has a Wet Type Multi-Disc clutch system with a 5-speed gearbox. It is expected to give around 35-38 kmpl of mileage in the city and around 40 kmpl of mileage on the highway. It also has a 14-liter fuel tank.

Suspension, Brakes, and Wheels:

The bike has a highly regarded upside-down (USD) telescopic suspension on the front wheels and a mono-shock suspension on the rear. Although because the rear seat is quite small, a pillion will have a tough time being on the rear seat, and hence the rear mono-shock can easily support the rider.

The bike has disc brakes for both the front and rear. But the catch is that it has a Combined Braking System (CBS). As mentioned before, the CBS activates both the brakes when the rear brake is engaged. The CBS is a safety feature that will surely help most bikers to ride in the terrain filled roads of Dhaka.

The wheelbase of the bike is shorter than a regular commuter bike, because of its sporty nature. It has alloy wheels with tubeless tires. The front and the back have 110/60 and 140/60 section tires respectively. Which makes it extremely stable during cornering and highly trustworthy of sticking to the ground during high-speed maneuvers.

Best for:

Young adults in Bangladesh, have always desired racing bikes. But due to excessive taxation, buying a sportbike nearly meant selling both the kidneys. But the Roadmaster's effort to introduce a sports bike at the price of regular bikes is well appreciated by the youth. A university student can flex their way to classes and a fresh graduate can ride to his/her office so much easier now, as the Roadmaster Rapido 165 is widely available now.

In easy words, the target audience of this bike is the youth of Bangladesh.

The Roadmaster Rapido 165 gives its competitors a serious run for their money with the affordable price and the premium segment accessories. Considering the advantages of the bike, it receives a fairly less amount of coverage.

In conclusion, it can be said that the Roadmaster Rapido 165 offers a well-made sports bike with premium features. The BikeBD team congratulates Roadmaster for such an amazing feat and is looking forward to discovering all bike price in Bangladesh that Roadmaster has to offer in the future.
