Pegasus Fabio 125 Overview

Introduction

Pegasus Fabio is a 125cc cruiser. A few years ago, a cruiser in Bangladesh was something people saw as unnecessary. But as the moto touring culture is growing, people have slowly started to see the appeal of a bike you can sit comfortably on and enjoy the ride. But the problem is that most cruisers in Bangladesh cost an arm and a leg. That is where the local companies have taken the responsibility to get the people what they want.

Pegasus is a Bangladeshi motorcycle brand that brings its motorcycles from China and assembles in Bangladesh. This allows Pegasus bikes to be quite cost-friendly. Pegasus is a part of Jamuna Electronics and Automobile Limited (JEAL). The company was formed in 2013 under the concern of Jamuna Group. Jamuna Group’s slogan is “Committed to Prosperity”.

Key Features:
The Pegasus Fabio 125 is one of the few assembled Cruisers in Bangladesh. The bike has a single-seat, with extended handlebars. This makes the bike look very much like a custom Cruiser. While every customized Cruiser is very unstable and mostly unsafe to use, the bike is quite stable and safe. The slanted forks at the front also make the bike quite comfortable to cruise with.

The light setup of the Pegasus Fabio 125 is quite good compared to other cruisers in Bangladesh. The headlight of the bike is a Halogen unit with a huge reflector. The taillight and the indicators of the bike are LED units. The headlight will be enough for the highway. The taillight and the indicators will also be enough to be noticed from a distance.

The Pegasus Fabio 125 instrument cluster is quite minimalistic, just like a Cruiser should have. The instrument cluster only has a speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter, and other necessary indicators. The minimalistic instrument cluster is there because bikers who use Cruisers don’t care about other functions of the instrument cluster, as they are too much into enjoying the ride. The instrument cluster is completely analog, which gives a very retro feel.

The Pegasus Fabio 125 is available in four colors. They are:
Black.
Silver.
Copper.
Purple.
All color variants come with similar decals and graphics.

 Physical Attributes:
As the Fabio 125 is a cruiser, it has a low saddle height as all Cruisers should have. Regardless of the low seat height, the bike has a high ground clearance of 160mm. At this ground clearance, the bike may have difficulty crossing very few speedbumps of Bangladesh. The bike also has a fuel tank of 13liters. The fuel capacity ensures that the biker won’t have to worry too much about fuel on long rides.

The length, width, and height of the Pegasus Fabio 125 1990mm, 845mm, and 1300mm. But the dry weight of the bike is about 110kg. The weight of the bike is quite less, which is surprising for a cruiser. The bike also has a wheelbase of about 1290mm, which is quite short compared to most cruisers and bikes, and it might bring question stability in while leaning.

Engine and Transmission:
The Pegasus Fabio 125 comes with a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 2-valve, and 125cc engine. The engine is carbureted and air-cooled. The engine pumps out around 7.5kW of power at 8500rpm and 8.8Nm of torque at 7000rpm. Although the bike is carbureted, the engine is quite smooth. It is expected to have an economy of around 45kmpl combined.

It has a wet multi-plate clutch system. It has a 5-speed gearbox, which is suitable for cruising. The bike is expected to have a top speed of around 100kmph, which will be more than enough for cruising through the highways of Bangladesh.

Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:
The Pegasus Fabio 125 has a single-disc brake setup. The front brake has a disc setup, which allows the bike to brake smoothly. The front brake is expected to perform quite well, as the disc has a large radius. The rear brake is not expected to perform very well, as it has a drum. The overall brake setup of the bike is not very satisfactory.

The front of the Fabio 125 has telescopic forks as the suspension and the rear has adjustable shock absorbers. The front suspension is expected to respond well as most telescopic suspensions do. The suspension setup of the bike allows it to be great at touring and long rides. This suspension is not at all for bumpy or off-roads.

It has alloy wheels. The front and the rear wheels have 2.75-18 and 3.50-16 section tires respectively. The thick rear tires will compensate for the hard-tail. If you are to face any bumpy roads, letting a little pressure go would be great.

Target Audience:
The Pegasus Fabio 125 is a bike for touring lovers. The bike is for the tourers who want to tour in style. This bike would be great for the smooth roads and the long straights which will allow its riders to have comfortable long rides.
