Lifan Pony 100 is a mini-size motorcycle; therefore, it’s a small pit bike that also can be called a pocket bike that has been showcased in the Lifan motorcycle lineup for many years. The motorcycle is being imported, assembled, and marketed by Rasel Industries Limited (RIL) the official distributor of Lifan motorcycles in Bangladesh. Lifan Pony 100 is a small commuting-focused motorcycle that is quite near to a moped. But it has been very carefully designed and featured for short-distance commuting and also can be used as a learner bike for newbies or kids.

Lifan Pony 100 – Physical Attributes:

Lifan Pony 100 is a pretty small size, tight & compact commuting motorcycle that belongs in the category of the pit bike, pocket bike, or mini bike. The motorcycle is basically designed and featured for short-distance rides around, city commuting, and for young people learning. Considering its compact dimension and feature it cannot be categorized as an absolute moped but it’s better to call it a pit bike. Hence the bike is exclusively featured with all street-legal and naked streetfighter ergonomics and thus it is a small commuter motorcycle.

At its first look, Lifan Pony 100 looks like a miniature of a standard-sized commuter motorcycle. The motorcycle comes with street-naked styling and upright ergonomics from its top to bottom. Like the regular commuter motorcycle, it holds all the street-legal features like the headlamp, tail lamp, ODO counter, indicator, horn, registration plate hanger, etc. Here the wheelbase, therefore, the dimension of the motorcycle is notably shorter than a regular motorcycle, and thus it's a compact mini bike that holds all the regular motorcycle-like features.

Being a mini bike or a street-legal pit bike, Lifan Pony 100 comes with a very compact body panel, smaller seat, nicely matched sporty fuel tank, and high wheel-fenders. But here nothing is sliced out or compromised from the common motorcycle-like exteriors. Accordingly, the motorcycle comes with a nice-looking sporty headlamp assembly and an analog-digital combo ODO is placed on its top. Here the fuel tank is a metal tank and it is simply designed with nice decals.

Coming to the seat, Lifan Pony 100 comes with a compact single-piece seat that is simply comfortable enough for a rider but it’s not designed to carry a full-aged or heavy pillion. Whatsoever the back of the seat is supported by a metal grab rail and tail lamp, turning indicators, and a registration plate hanger is placed after the nicely crafted panel underneath. In the rest, the motorcycle holds a sporty designed exhaust barrel that altogether made Lifan Pony 100 much more sporty and stylish as well.

Lifan Pony 100 – Frame, Wheel, Brake, & Suspension System:

Lifan Pony 100 is a small commuting motorcycle that holds a pit bike profile dedicatedly featured with street-legal features. The motorcycle is designed on a diamond frame that holds a vertically aligned petrol engine. On the wheels, Lifan Pony 100 holds sporty alloy rims and fatter profile dual-terrain tires. Here both the tires are tubeless-type those come in measure of 120/80-12” in the front and 120/80-12” at the rear. 

In the braking system, Lifan Pony 100 comes with hydraulic disc-type braking systems on both the front and rear wheels. Here the discs are well ventilated and thickened enough like a regular commuter motorcycle. Coming to the suspension system, the motorcycle is featured a regular hydraulic telescopic fork suspension in the front and at the rear, it holds a single shock absorber attached to its swingarm.

Lifan Pony 100 – Engine Features:

Lifan Pony 100 basically is a street-legal pit bike that is designed and profiled for short-distance commuting. Thus the motorcycle holds a powerful but fuel-efficient 100cc petrol engine. Here the engine is precisely a 99.3cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that featured 53mmx45mm bore & stroke and a 9.5:1 compression ratio. And the engine features a SOHC 2-valve setup where the fuel feeding is featured with a carburetor fuel feeding system.

The engine starting of Lifan Pony 100 is featured with both electric and manual kick-starter system and the transmission is featured with 4-speed gear where the clutch is regular hand-operated manual wet-type. In the power and torque figure, the engine is rated to deliver the maximum power of 5.8kW@7,500RPM and torque of 7.3N.m@6,000RPM. Thus the motorcycle is very efficient in power delivery and it also ensures a significant range of fuel economy.
