KTM Duke 125 Indian Overview
KTM Duke 125 Indian পর্যালোচনা
Introduction
ভূমিকা
India has one of the biggest motorcycle culture and community in the world. At every corner of India, you will see at least 10 motorcycles. This culture has slowly made its way into Bangladesh and a similar community has grown up here.
The only restraint that Bangladesh has is the cubic capacity (CC) limit, which only allows bikes below or equal to 165cc to reach Bangladesh. The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) fortunately being 125cc made its way to Bangladesh.
KTM is an Austrian motorcycle brand that collaborated with the Indian motorcycle giant Bajaj to produce KTMs in India. This is why every KTM bike has two versions, the European, also known as the Austrian version, and the Indian version. The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) is known as the orange pocket rocket in India, and that fact is also acknowledged here in Bangladesh.

Key Features:
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) is the less good-looking of the two versions of the bike. The bike comes with a very simple and rounded headlight setup, unlike the aggressive European version.
The headlight is fully Halogen. The light is somewhat enough to travel around at night. All the other lights are LED. The indicators are minimalistic and thin.
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) has a basic LED screen with an orange backlight (continuing the Orange theme of KTM). The instrument cluster shows everything necessary. The basic contents are RPM, speed, fuel, fuel consumption, time, and gear position indicator. However, the mode button allows the rider to explore the options a bit more.
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) comes in two colors. They are:
- Orange (Combined with black and white).
- White (Combined with black and orange).
- Black (Combined with white and orange).
The decals of the bike are very aggressive and good-looking. The bike is a complete head-turner.
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) comes with an underbelly exhaust setup, unlike the European version, which comes with a regular exhaust. This is a bit of a problem as water might creep its way into the exhaust if it floods during the rainy season.

Additionally, it sports a shorter rear section with a compact rear seat, distinguishing it from the elongated seat found on the European model. Engine and Transmission:
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) comes with a 4-stroke, 4 valves, single-cylinder, and 125cc engine. The engine is liquid-cooled and fuel-injected, which are huge plus points for the bike. The engine pumps out a staggering 15BHP of power at 9250rpm and 12Nm torque at 8000rpm. While the power is extremely high, the torque figure does get a blow due to the engine size. The bike is expected to have a mileage of around 40-45kmpl on average. The engine also comes with a Bosch EMS (Engine management system).
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) has a basic wet multi-plate clutch system. However, the bike does not get a slipper clutch like the Yamaha R15. The KTM Duke 125 Indian has a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike has an approximate top speed of about 110-115kmph.

Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheel:
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) has Bosch-powered single-channel ABS, which means the front gets the ABS and the rear does not. The bike also has a four-piston radial fixed caliper brakes set up at the front.
This means emergency braking will be faster and will be more efficient. The brakes make the bike safer and more reliable. The rear not getting an ABS makes the bike skid in aggressive braking situations.
The KTM Duke 125 (Indian) has upside-down WP Apex-43 telescopic forks as front suspension. The rear has a preload-adjustable WP mono-shock suspension.
This means that the bike will be highly stable during rides, and cornering, and you can also adjust the rear suspension to your liking and situation. Although the rear seat has been said to be fairly stiff, the rear suspension can cover up for that.
The KTM Duke 125 Indian gets alloy wheels. The front and rear wheels have 110/80 and 150/70 tires respectively. The stock MRF Revz Radial rear tire (also the front) of this bike is considered to be one of the fattest tires available in Bangladesh. The tire setup makes this bike one of the best bikes to hit the corners of Bandarban with maximum lean.
