VERDICT
You don’t talk about Japanese bikes and forget Kawasaki. Kawasaki is one of the most respected bike manufacturing companies in the world. Kawasaki has built superbikes, sportbikes, touring bikes, adventure bikes, super naked bikes, and more. The Kawasaki Z125 is an entry-level, naked sportbike by Kawasaki.
The Kawasaki Z125, alongside Kawasaki Ninja 125, was introduced to the public back in late 2019. It was one of the most anticipated bikes of the year. The bike had induced some serious amount of curiosity among the biking community. Regardless of being a 125cc bike, it made enough noise in the community to put most 150cc bikes to distress.
Key Features:
The Kawasaki Z125 is a naked sportbike. The category indicates to upright seating ergonomics. The bike comes with a single pipe handlebar. Although the handlebar is slightly further away from the seat, which does make most tall riders lean over the tank. Although the foot-pegs and other seating arrangements are very comfortable.
The Kawasaki Z125 comes with a trellis chassis, similar to the Kawasaki Ninja 125. The chassis is also similar to the Kawasaki Ninja 250SL. The chassis is slightly on the heavier side, which increases the push on earth and makes it more stable than most other bikes at mid-range speeds and high-speeds.
The Kawasaki Z125 comes in a slick minimalistic design. The design is so aggressive that it unintentionally induces confidence. It can be seen that the design team had fun with the decals, as they look gorgeous on it.
The Kawasaki Z125 also has a fully digital dash area. The dashboard contains an rpm counter, speedometer, odometer, gear position indicator. The dashboard gives out all the information a new rider requires to start learning.
The Kawasaki Z125 comes in two colors. They are:
- Black.
- Green.
The black comes with green and white decals, while the green one gets black decals.
Physical Attributes:
The Kawasaki Z125 is a fairly tall bike, with a seat height of 815mm. The bike is mostly suited for riders more than 5’7”. The bike also has the same tank as the Kawasaki Ninja 125, of 11liter. The tank is enough for most long tours and can hold up.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Kawasaki Z125 are 1935mm, 740mm, 1015mm, and 146kg. The bike is also somewhat on the heavier side, which makes it slightly difficult to control at a lower speed, but do great at high speeds.
Engine and Transmission:
The Kawasaki Z125 comes with a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and 125cc engine with DOHC. The engine is liquid-cooled and fuel-injected, which are huge plus points for the bike. The engine pumps out a staggering 15BHP of power at 10000rpm and 11.7Nm torque at 7700rpm. While the power is extremely high, the torque figure does get a blow. The bike is expected to have a mileage of around 45kmpl on average.
The Kawasaki Z125 has a basic wet multi-plate clutch system. It is uncertain that if the Kawasaki Ninja 125 has a slipper clutch like the Yamaha R15 V3. The Kawasaki Z125 has a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike has an approximate top speed of about 120kmph.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheel:
The Kawasaki Z125 has dual-channel ABS, which means the front and the rear both get ABS. The brakes also have dual calipers. This means emergency braking will be faster and will be more efficient. The brakes make the bike safer and more reliable.
The Kawasaki Z125 has front telescopic forks as front suspension. The rear has a Uni-Trak, gas-charged, and adjustable mono shock-absorbing suspension. This means that the bike will be highly stable during rides and also during cornering. Although the rear seat is nearly nonexistent, the rear suspension can cover up for a small seat.
The Kawasaki Z125 gets alloy wheels. The front and rear wheels have 100/80 and 130/70 tires respectively. Although the rear tire maybe a little thin, the bike can keep itself up and stable anyway. Yet, a fatter, for example, 140/70 tire would have done more for the rider during cornering.
Target Audience:
The Kawasaki Z125 was made for youngsters just learning to ride. This bike induces confidence and makes the rider want to buy more beautiful bikes similar to this. This bike has the power and torque figures for a young speed freak, yet is not as overwhelming when riding, due to its smooth riding. The Kawasaki Z125 is also for the people who want to spoil themselves with expensive and high-quality bikes.
Competitors:
Weirdly, the Kawasaki Z125 has only 2 competitors, but the competitors are strong enough to question the buyer’s decisions.
- KTM Duke 125.
- KTM RC 125.
- Aprilia RS4 125.
The Kawasaki Z125 is an exceptional bike that has the capabilities to make anyone’s head turn. The bike may not be as fast as a 150cc bike naked sportbike, but it is still very strong. The Kawasaki Z125 is one of the best naked sportbikes available in Bangladesh.
