The new Honda SP125 is a recently launched, updated commuter motorcycle model within the Honda SP series, now available in the Bangladeshi market. This motorcycle has been a part of the Indian market for years, and Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL) has now introduced a refreshed version, boasting stunning new features and enhancements. The motorcycle is now available in the market with new color and graphics that offered with a decent range of prices.
This latest iteration of the SP125 sports holds a completely new design and refreshed appearance, along with various technical adjustments and a compatible range of refinements. Additionally, the model now incorporates a PGM-FI fuel injection system and complies with BS6 homologation, thus the motorcycle is enhanced with better emission properties. Therefore, the new Honda SP 125 is an all-new model that featured a better technical profile and making difference in the current Honda motorcycle lineup.
Honda SP125 – Physical Attributes:
In the look and design, the new Honda SP 125 comes with an entirely new appearance from top to bottom while maintaining the iconic essence of its series, which is unofficially linked to the older Honda CB Shine series. The Honda SP series, dedicated to commuter motorcycles, presents the new SP 125 with highly competitive commuting features and a sporty, captivating exterior profile. The overall exterior profile of the motorcycle retains the iconic series design. The headlamp assembly, now a completely new unit, features a vertically aligned double pit LED DC headlamp assembly enhanced with a sharp LED DRL setup. It exudes a cool, sporty, and aggressive vibe, somewhat resembling the rolling CB Hornet 160R model. Similarly, the motorcycle's tail has been updated with a reshaped and boldly designed anchor-shaped tail lamp unit.
Whatsoever, beyond the reshaped windshield, the ODO is an entirely new digital unit that displays various parameters, including real-time mileage, average mileage, distance to empty, service due indicator, gear position indicator, and eco indicator. It also incorporates a side stand indicator integrated with an engine cut-off feature when the stand is down, that enhances the rider safety.
Moving to the handlebar, it features a pipe handlebar with necessary control switches and levers on both sides. Notably, the new SP125 handlebar switch includes an engine kill switch integrated with the engine start button and a dedicated high-beam pass light switch. The fuel tank, a metal tank like other models in the series, now boasts a completely new set of shrouds crafted with multi-layered matte and glossy panels. This design enhances the bike's aerodynamic properties, lending it a sporty and muscular appearance.
The seat of the SP125 is a curvy, segmented single-piece seat that provides ample space for both rider and passenger. The rear of the seat is supported by a heavy grabrail and then the tail panel features an anchor shaped sharp tail lamp. The assembly also holds conventional registration plate hanger, turn indicators both sides and an extended rear wheel mudguard.

The rest of the SP 125's body features edgy, curvy side panels crafted with glossy and matte panels. Additional features include a decently shaped exhaust muffler with a chrome heat shield, a sealed chain drive protected by a full chain cover, and an integrated sharee-guard for added protection for female passengers. The Honda SP125 is the latest model in the Honda SP motorcycle series, equipped with a diamond-type steel frame. It features all-new sporty paired-spoke alloy rims and tubeless street tires in its wheels. The new model features a wider rear tire, now sized 100/80-18, while the front tire is 80/100-18.
Regarding the braking system, the motorcycle is equipped with a hydraulic disc brake on the front wheel, while the rear setup is of the drum type. The CBS enhancement is standard here where the mechanism is hydraulic pressure controlled and fluid pressure can be equalized.
In terms of suspension, the new Honda SP125 is outfitted with a regular upright hydraulic telescopic fork suspension system in the front, and a double unit at the rear, which is spring-loaded and adjustable in five ways. This setup ensures a decent configuration of wheels, brakes, and suspension, all are aimed to enhance on-road performances.

The new Honda SP125 is a 125cc street commuter motorcycle. Its engine is a 123.94cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, SOHC 2-valve engine, that features a PGM-FI fuel feeding system. The bore & stroke measure is 50.0mm X 63.1mm and the compression ratio is of 10:1. The clutch system is a multi-plate wet clutch, and the transmission is a 5-speed gear with the pattern 1-N-2-3-4-5. The engine can be ignited using both the manual kick starter and electric start system.

The new SP125 engine has been refined with Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology, that maximizes engine performance and fuel efficiency by reducing cylinder and rocker roller arm frictions. Additionally, the newly integrated ACG starter, coupled with eSP technology, initiates engine startup more quietly. These improvements ensure the rider's best experience, enhancing power delivery and increasing fuel economy by up to 16%.
Consequently, the bike's engine is now more refined and adjusted for improved power delivery and maximum fuel economy. It can deliver a maximum power of 8kW@7,500RPM and a maximum torque of 10.9Nm@6,000RPM. To complement its efficiency, the motorcycle is now weighted only 116kh and also equipped with a side stand engine cut-off feature and an engine kill switch on the right handlebar, that made Honda SP 125 more conveniently controllable.
