Honda CRF150L – Design Overview

Honda CRF150L is the most entry-level dual-sport motorcycle positioned in the Honda CRF family that comes with a 150cc capacity engine. It’s a solid street-legal dual-sport motorcycle that carries the Honda's CRF DNA. Hence the motorcycle is designed with trail-oriented features and ergonomics. The motorcycle inherits from the Honda XR150L, therefore, the Honda XR series. But the motorcycle is designed mostly focusing on the dirt profile in the overall design.

Thus the motorcycle featured with very tiny body panel as seen in the solid dirt bikes. It copies the dirt-profiled higher saddle, high ground clearance, longer travel suspension, and larger wheel setup. Furthermore, the motorcycle is featured with all the street-legal features to ensure its dual-sport identity. Hence it includes regular street-bike like headlamp, tail lamp, horn, indicators, and fully-featured digital ODO.

In the rest of the body design, its narrow, compact, and omits unnecessary body panels. Honda CRF150L is the small capacity trail-oriented dual-sport motorcycle that was inspired and designed under the shadow of Honda’s quarter-liter model dual-sport CRF250L. The motorcycle was designed on a semi-double cradle-type steel truss frame. The frame is lighter in weight and ensures enough strength that capable to deal the most of the trail riding situations and also the common street rides.

Being a full-size trail-oriented dual-sport motorcycle CRF150L is featured with profiled spoke wheels that are 21-inch in front and 18-inch at the rear. Here the rims are light-weight aluminum rims and the tires are dual-purpose tube-type tires. In the braking both the wheel featured hydraulic disk braking systems.

In the suspension system, the Honda CRF150L comes with a very responsive type of long-travel suspension system. Here the front suspension is USD type hydraulic telescopic fork suspension and at the rear, the setup is adjustable mono that is featured with Pro-Link system. Meanwhile, both the suspensions are made by SHOWA, Indonesia.

Honda CRF150L – Engine Feature & Performances

The Honda CRF150L is the youngest breed in the CRF family that comes with a refined 150cc engine. The engine is precisely a 149.15cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that featured SOHC 2-valve. The 57.3mmX57.8mm bore & stroke square engine comes with a decent compression ratio of 9.5:1 where fuel feeding is PGM-FI fuel injection system.

Here the ignition system is fully transistorized hence the engine is capable to deal with any weather and altitude condition more smartly.
