Introduction

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is a newly updated Splendor variant in HERO’s Splendor motorcycle series that is produced and marketed by Hero MotoCorp Limited. The new motorcycle now comes with a refreshed look and is enhanced with some updated features. Though the motorcycle remains the same entry-level commuter motorcycle but this new variant is marketed with all-new color & sticker works along with some enthralling add-ons. 

The new Hero Splendor Plus Xtec now features an updated APDV Engine; therefore, it includes an Advanced Pro Digital Variable ignition system and fuel-saving i3S Technology. For riders’ convenience, it also comes with a built-in USB gadget charging facility.  Moreover, this Xtec version comes with an all-new digital ODO console featuring mobile phone connectivity and offering many benefits. Thus, this updated commuter is now adding more excitement to our daily commuting.


Hero Splendor Plus Xtec – Physical Attributes:

Hero Splendor is a very popular commuter motorcycle series continued by the renowned motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp Limited. Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is an updated model variant in this motorcycle lineup that now comes with a bundle of updated features. This new version of the motorcycle comes with a refreshed appearance featuring a very eye-catching and smart color and graphics scheme. 

However, in the core construction and exteriors, the motorcycle remains unchanged and identical from top to bottom. In the exteriors, the motorcycle comes with a halogen headlamp setup along with an integrated parking light in the same old headlamp housing. At the top inside the headlight cowling, the motorcycle now features an all-new ODO console replacing the old analog one. 

The ODO is now fully digital, and the Xtec feature has mobile phone connectivity. The ODO displays an extensive range of parameters, and many of those are accessible via mobile phone. Next, the cockpit features a pipe handlebar that holds necessary control switches along with a dedicated i3s fuel-saving switch. Meanwhile, the motorcycle now has a USB charging facility that enhances convenience.

Coming to the other body elements, the semi-oval metal fuel tank, sporty side panels, rear panels, and wheel mudguards all remained in the same decade-old shape, but as a different model, the exteriors got a refreshed color and graphics job. Accordingly, the seat of the motorcycle remains a single-piece seat backing with a small carrier. Thus, despite the established old exterior design, the motorcycle is nicely uplifted with a pretty decent and sporty skin profile.


Hero Splendor Plus Xtec – Frame, Wheel, Brake, & Suspension System:

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is a dedicated, stylish, and most economical commuter in the Hero commuter motorcycle lineup. The motorcycle features a commuting-oriented upright riding design and profile. The motorcycle is designed on a steel Tubular Double Cradle Type frame that holds a tilted vertically aligned petrol engine. 

On the wheels, Hero Splendor Plus Xtec holds sporty 5-spoke alloy rims and commuting-focused street tires on both wheels. Here, the tires are tubeless type and those come in measure of 80/100-18” M/C47P in the front and 80/100-18” M/C54P at the rear. 

In the braking system, Hero Splendor Plus Xtec comes with 130mm drum-type braking systems on both wheels, where the entire system is enhanced with the IBS safety feature that ensures safer braking. In the suspension system, the motorcycle features a regular hydraulic telescopic fork suspension in the front, and at the rear, it holds the spring-loaded double shock absorbers attached to the swingarm.


Hero Splendor Plus Xtec – Engine Features:

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is an updated motorcycle that holds a very economical and commuting-focused engine. It’s a decently powered and fuel-efficient APDV and i3s-featured petrol engine. The engine is a 97.2cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that features a bore & stroke of 50.0mm X 49.5mm and a compression ratio of 9.9:1. Here, the valve system is OHC 2-valve, where the fuel feeding is carburetor type.

The engine starting system now features both electric and manual kick-starter systems. The transmission is featured with a 4-speed gear in the sequence of 1-2-3-4, where the clutch is a multi-plate wet-type. In the power and torque figures, the engine can deliver a maximum power of 8.2BHP at 8,000RPM and torque of 8.05Nm at 5,000RPM, which is very practical in terms of most frequent commuting scenarios.
