Introduction

The new Hero Hunk 150R Xtec is an updated version of the Hunk 150R. It’s a recent addition to the Hero Hunk motorcycle series released by Hero MotoCorp Limited. The company recently unveiled this updated machine as the part of their latest product lineup. This streetfighter motorcycle is specifically designed to enhance the street riding experience by delivering smoother street performance and excellent fuel economy. 

Moreover, the new Hunk 150R Xtec version now comes with mobile phone connectivity via Bluetooth with a dedicated Android App. It helps the rider to navigate and control various features which is really cool. However, in the other features, this is an all-new machine, which is an upgrade from the older Hunk 150 model that also features a retuned 150cc engine that is tweaked to cater to the diverse customers’ needs and requirements with performance and more efficiency.


Hero Hunk 150R Xtec – Physical Attributes:

The Hero Hunk 150R Xtec is a dedicated street-naked motorcycle in the Hero Hunk motorcycle series which is known for aggressive urban styling and attractive sporty ergonomics. Hero MotoCorp Ltd., the renowned Indian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, has introduced this all-new Hero Hunk 150R Xtec as the latest addition to their motorcycle lineup. The new motorcycle also maintains an iconic design but has undergone several cosmetic and technical updates and comes with its own appearance.

In the design, the new Hunk 150R Xtec is based on the older Hunk 150 model and various parts of the motorcycle are also swapped from the older Xtreme 150 model. As a result, the motorcycle comes with significant changes compared to its predecessor. However, it still shares certain components from its predecessor, such as the frame, wheel, suspensions, and many other parts but altogether, the motorcycle features a refreshed and new exterior profile.

In the overall appearance, the new Hunk 150R Xtec catches attention with its decently designed headlamp assembly featuring separated DRLs. Above the headlamp, the newly designed digital-analog combo ODO cluster is mounted inside a bikini fairing. The ODO unit displays a comprehensive range of parameters. After that the pipe handlebar has been redesigned with new control switch arrangements, enhancing the motorcycle's overall control and functionality.

The fuel tank retains its iconic shape but has received a facelift with the newly designed sharp tank shrouds and is now adorned with an attractive skin tone. The seat remains in a one-piece design that is segmented for the rider and pillion which are positioned at different heights. The motorcycle has an integrated grabrail beside the rear seat, while the tail section features an all-new look beholding a sharp tail lamp and sporty rear registration plate hanger.

In the rest of the body elements, the new Hero Hunk 150R features a newly designed exhaust barrel. The rear wheel features a compact tire hugger and the engine is crafted with a sporty underbelly pan. Thus, in the overall design, the new Hero Hunk 150R Xtec boasts a compact and muscular profile. Therefore, it nicely reflects its aggressive appeal which is complemented by the updated color and graphics scheme.


Hero Hunk 150R Xtec – Frame, Wheel, Brake, & Suspension System:

The new Hero Hunk 150R Xtec is a refreshed machine that has been constructed on a Tubular Diamond frame, which is consistent throughout the entire Hero Hunk series. Sequentially, the motorcycle also maintains quite the same wheel, brake, and suspension configuration as featured in other models in the series. 

Consequently, this new version of Hunk comes with a 100/80-17 tire at the front and a 130/70-17 tire at the rear. Both wheels are tubeless type. In the braking system, the new Hunk 150R Xtec features hydraulic disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. Additionally, it features a single-channel ABS enhancement.

In the suspension, the motorcycle features upright telescopic fork suspensions at the front. At the rear, it incorporates a 7-step adjustable mono-shock absorber connected to the swingarm hinge. Therefore, with these competent configurations the new motorcycle can ensure reliable street performance both in city and back town rides.


Hero Hunk 150R Xtec – Engine Performance & Features:

The Hero Hunk 150R Xtec is a modern, feature-packed street-naked motorcycle. It is equipped with an updated 149.2cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine. This engine features a 2-valve and carburetor fuel-feeding system. The performance-proven engine is fitted with a manual multi-plate wet clutch system and a 5-speed gear transmission with the pattern 1-N-2-3-4-5. The motorcycle starts using the electric and kick-start system.

When it comes to power and performance, the new Hero Hunk 150R Xtec engine has been optimized to deliver enhanced power, torque, and improved fuel efficiency. The engine is now capable of generating a maximum power of 14.2BHP at 8,500RPM and a torque of 12.6Nm at 6,500RPM. With these performance figures, the motorcycle can reach a significant top speed and accelerate faster while providing a decent range of fuel economy for both city and highway rides.
