In the Dhaka Bike Show 2016 Rasel Industries Ltd launched 5 new bikes in Bangladesh, there were two off road bikes under the tag name of Motocross & two pocket bikes from Lifan in the name of KP Mini & Pony. In that Bike Show they also launched Lifan KP150 V2 which is actually in technical terms Lifan KP150 Water Cooled edition.

LIFAN have made a name of its own in the past two years in Bangladesh, their flagship product Lifan KPR150 has been a hot cake in the company and so far there are 500 KPR on road since its launch in April 2015. Lifan KPR150 is the most affordable sports bike in Bangladesh, with the price tag of 2 lac Rasel Industries are giving away 2 years engine warranty & 5 years free service with the bike.

We have tested Lifan KP150 for about 30,000 km and what we found out that despite the cost and being a CHINESE bike manufacturer LIFAN is giving away some good quality product in the price tag they are supplying. With Lifan KP150 & KPR150 making their make they now introduced Lifan KP150 V2.

Lifan KP150 V2 is a naked bike, in short the bike carries the chassis of KP150 & the engine and gear box from KPR150. According to math this should be a combination with more power on a light chassis, which will be good for acceleration, speed, braking and control but will still give away a good mileage.

The engine is from Lifan KPR150, which produces 14.8 BHP & 14 NM of Torque from the engine vai a 6 speed gear box on the rear tyre, now due to radiator the front air scoop is lowered more and it does looks good, from the outside you can feel that the bike is more aggressive than normal and now that the engine is water cooled and there is no fairing to block the heat.

Overall there isn’t much of a cosmetic upgrade from Lifan KP150, the finished quality is good but could have been better, am a bit disappointed on the on the tyre size and front disc brakes as they could have had the same tyres and braking system from Lifan KPR150.

In Lifan KP150 we complained about the bike’s rear suspension, chain sprocket & air filter quality to be improved & the company said that Lifan took those notice very seriously & they improved the quality of those materials in this model.

Lifan KP150 V2 shares most of the parts from Lifan KP150 or Lifan KPR150, so parts availability is not a concern for the bike. We are still to test the bike's performance but in the future we will give it a try.
