Many of us are fascinated by stunt riding. In Bangladesh stunt riding is not yet recognized as an official motorsport but people eagerly watch professional stunt riders perform at various events. Internationally, stunt riding is a recognized motorsport.

One of the stunt skills is called handlebar wheelie or high chair wheelie. In this stunt the rider sits on the fuel tank places both legs on the handlebar and then lifts the front wheel. Recently British rider Jonny Davies set the world record for the fastest high chair wheelie.

At Elvington Airfield in York he successfully performed the stunt at an unbelievable speed of 127 miles or 204.38 kilometers per hour. Interestingly Jonny had previously set a record in 2019 with 109 miles or 175.82 kilometers per hour but after that record was broken he came back to reclaim the title.

According to international motorcycle blog MCN the new record was set in September at Straightliners Speed Week. Jonny reached 127.047 miles per hour breaking the previous record of 125.9 miles per hour. For the attempt he used a modified Kawasaki ZX-10R. He removed the fairing and meter, installed straight handlebars and reshaped the fuel tank for seating adjustments.

Despite facing heavy wind and some technical issues still he succeeded. Jonny told to the press that in the morning he broke the record easily but after lunch he was unable to lift the wheel. Later at home he discovered that traction control had been accidentally turned on otherwise he could have gone even faster.

However, Jonny now plans to push the record above 130 miles or 210 kilometers per hour next year. He also aims to set another record by riding the motorcycle backward at high speed. We believe that in the near future talented stunt riders from Bangladesh may also achieve such global recognition.
