With The Introduction Of 350cc Bikes In Bangladesh, Which Second-Hand Bikes Might See A Decrease In Price?

Last updated on 03-Nov-2024 , By Badhon Roy

A festive atmosphere seems to have taken over the Bangladeshi biking community. With the launch of new bikes across different CCs and segments, bikers now have more options to choose from. Among these, Royal Enfield's price has been particularly reasonable and leading many bikers to consider selling their current bikes to pre-book higher CC models from Royal Enfield and other upcoming brands.

In recent days, there has been a noticeable increase in second-hand motorcycle ads on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and other online and offline trading spaces. In today’s article, we’ll explore which second-hand bikes might see a dip in resale value based on market trends.

With The Introduction Of 350cc Bikes In Bangladesh, Which Second-Hand Bikes Might See A Decrease In Price?

One of the first bikes expected to see a price drop is the Yamaha Fazer v2, one of Bangladesh’s most popular fairing commuter bikes. Additionally, the resale value of the Suzuki Gixxer SF in the same segment might also decrease. In the naked commuter segment- Yamaha’s FZ-s series, particularly the v3 and the newly launched v4 could see a significant drop in resale value.

In the naked sports segment, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the Bajaj Pulsar N250 are priced similarly which might result in a decrease in the N250’s resale value. Meanwhile, Honda’s Ex-Motion CB150r which is currently one of the most expensive bikes in the unofficial Bangladeshi market, might also see a depreciation in resale value.

A large segment of Bangladeshi bikers typically spend between 5 to 7 lakhs BDT on 150cc sports segment bikes. With the availability of higher CC options, some might consider upgrading to potentially leading to a slight price drop in sports bikes. In the sports segment, the resale value of the Hero Karizma 210 could decrease significantly. Indonesian and Indian versions of models like Yamaha R15m, R15 v4, and Honda CBR 150r might also experience notable price effects.

Although cruiser bike options in Bangladesh are limited, the arrival of Royal Enfield has intensified competition in the cruiser segment potentially impacting the resale value of bikes like the Bajaj Avenger 165, Lifan K19, Suzuki intruder 155 and UM Renegade Commando. Till now, bikes priced around or below 2 lakh BDT are not expected to see significant changes in their second-hand value.

Note: The article provides a price forecast based on recent market trends and fluctuations in the resale value of different bikes. Any observed variation in assumed resale values is not the responsibility of us. It is recommended that both parties assess the bike's condition thoroughly before setting a price for a second-hand purchase.
