Should You Buy The Suzuki Gixxer Monotone In 2025?
Last updated on 03-Mar-2025 , By Badhon Roy
There is nothing new to say about the Suzuki Gixxer Monotone. The Gixxer series from the globally renowned Japanese brand Suzuki has always been at the top of popularity among bikers. Over time, the design language and specifications of the Gixxer series have undergone significant changes, and higher CC versions have been launched.
However, the first version of the Gixxer, widely known as Monotone, is still among the most popular and top-selling models. But for those considering buying a new bike, how good will the decision to buy the Gixxer 155 Monotone be in 2025? That is the topic of our discussion today. Here we will provide our opinion through a detailed review of the bike’s advantages, disadvantages, and suitability for different riders.

Suzuki Gixxer Monotone - Advantages
Currently, the market price of the Gixxer Monotone is ৳205,950. For those with a budget around 2 lakh BDT, this bike could be a good option for several reasons. First of all, in this budget, the look of the Gixxer Monotone is quite aggressive and attractive.

The compact muscular look, V-shaped headlight, aerodynamic shape, compact dual-barrel exhaust, and curvy single seat make the bike quite appealing. Additionally, the bike is equipped with a 154.9cc, 4-stroke engine that produces a maximum of 14.6 horsepower at 8,000 RPM and 14 Newton meters of torque at 6,000 RPM, which delivers more powerful performance compared to many other bikes in this segment.
The seat height and ground clearance are quite low, making it easy for even a 5.3-inch tall rider to control. At the same time, the look of this bike will provide a good road presence for young riders, and its ready pickup and braking combination make it suitable for riders of all ages. Furthermore, its maintenance cost is low, and parts are officially available throughout Bangladesh, making it a good option for those who are concerned about maintenance.

Suzuki Gixxer Monotone - Limitations
The Gixxer 155 Monotone does have some noticeable limitations. The first limitation is its headlight. Although LED lights were not very common when this model was launched, riding at night with a halogen bulb is quite challenging.
The next limitation is its rear drum brake. Although Suzuki’s braking system is considered one of the best, having a disc brake instead of a drum brake would have increased riding confidence.
Another significant issue, which almost all Monotone users have reported, is that the clutch and gear shifter are very tight. This puts a lot of pressure on the hands and feet during city rides. Additionally, the pillion seat is not very comfortable for long rides, which is a negative point for those who frequently travel long distances with family.
By Whom The Bike Is More Suitable?
If your priority is to get a good-looking and performance-oriented bike within a budget of around 2 lakh BDT, which you can use for both daily city commutes and comfortable long rides, then the Gixxer Monotone could be a perfect choice for you. However, if your priority is family commuting, then we suggest you carefully compare the features of other bikes in the segment before making a decision.
