QJ Monster SRK 180 Test Ride Review – Overview
QJ Monster SRK 180 is a very charmingly designed naked-sport motorcycle produced by the renowned Chinese manufacturer QJ Motors, who also owns Keeway & Benelli. The motorcycle features a very compact design and aggressive riding ergonomics, dedicated to fun riding and urban commuting. Moreover, it holds a very eye-catching design that instantly catches attention on the road.

However, Speedoz Limited is currently marketing and distributing QJ motorcycles in Bangladesh. Accordingly, they have brought the motorcycle to Bangladesh to meet hardcore streetfighter lovers. Therefore, we took the opportunity to test the bike through our comprehensive test rides, and here we have real road-tested performance details on this bike.

QJ Monster SRK 180 – Looks & Design
In the design, the QJ Moster SRK 180 comes with a very tight and compact design featuring tight muscles, sharpness, and edginess all over its exterior. The attraction of the motorcycle starts from its aggressively designed headlamp assembly. Over the front wheel mudguard and exposed golden barrel USD shock absorbers, the headlamp assembly features all LED lights and an LED DRL setup.
Above it, a bikini cowling holds the digital ODO cluster that displays an extensive range of parameters featuring changeable screen themes. Next, the solid 28mm pipe handlebar holds quality full switch gears and is positioned upright to support aggressive upright riding mode.
Then, the fuel tank is another eye-catching part of the motorcycle that is muscled, puffed, and features sharp shark tooth-like shrouds from both sides. Meanwhile, the tank is narrowed toward the seat for better knee grip to support aggressive mode of riding. Then, the seat is a step-up split seat that has no grabrail at the tail.
The tail of the SRK 180 is absolutely naked after the tiny passenger seat. A small LED tail lamp is mounted underneath the passenger seat, and an extension arm simply holds the rear turn indicators and the registration plate hanger. In the rests, the motorcycle features an upraised exhaust, sporty engine underbelly pan, and sporty alloy wheel setup. Thus, altogether, the motorcycle features an aggressive design that is sharp, edgy, and absolutely compact.
QJ Monster SRK 180 – Frame, Wheel, Brake, & Suspension System
QJ Monster SRK 180 is a very compactly designed machine that is structured on a steel trellis frame. Here, the wheels feature alloy rims and tubeless-type street tires in a measure of 100/80-17’ in the front and 130/70-17” at the rear.
The braking system consists of hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels. The suspension system features USD hydraulic telescopic fork suspension in the front, and at the rear, it holds a 7-step adjustable mono suspension system.
QJ Monster SRK 180 – Engine Profile & Features
QJ Monster SRK 180 is a dedicated streetfighter especially designed for fun riding and commuting. The motorcycle features a 179.8cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, fuel-injection engine. QJ Monster SRK 180 Test Ride Review – Team BikeBD Findings
The QJ Monster SRK 180 is a recent launch in Bangladesh. The motorcycle comes with solid street-naked ergonomics. It features a very aggressive streetfighter profile; therefore, the riding, controlling, and handling characteristics are very agile and full of fun. As well, the design and styling of the motorcycle are damn aggressive, which is surely eye-catching on the roads. Consequently, we wanted to experience the real essence of the bike through our extensive test rides, and here are our findings.
Design & Build Quality
The QJ Monster SRK 180 is a modern streetfighter motorcycle. The motorcycle is constructed very compactly, and it comes with an arrogant look and style. Therefore, it features a razor-sharp and edgy design on its exterior.
From the front, the motorcycle instantly draws attention with its sharply visible dual-pit LED headlamp, golden USD forks, upraised handlebars, and a boldly naked cockpit. The muscular fuel tank, sporty split step-up seat, raised exhaust, and engine underbelly pan, altogether it features a tight-packed and premium appearance.
However, the build quality and craftsmanship are notable and have very minimal corners to criticize, considering our visual observation. Every part of the motorcycle looks solid and is well finished. Most of all, while gripping the handlebars of the motorcycle it gives a premium feel, which adds extra confidence to the rider on the motorcycle.
Features & Enhancements
QJ Monster SRK 180 is a tightly featured motorcycle for entering the sub-200cc segment. QJ Motor has packed this machine with some standout features:
* Full LED headlight and tail light setup.
* USD front fork suspension.
* Monoshock rear suspension.
* Hydraulic disc brake on both wheels and a dual-channel ABS enhancement.
* The display theme is changeable on the digital ODO console that has mobile connectivity.
* USB gadget charging facility.
* Side stand engine cutoff feature.
So, all these features are very impressive and a practical addition for a modern motorcycle. But here we found a few corners to criticize. Here, the LED headlight illumination is good enough for city rides, but the low-beam is quite weak, and the high-beam gives better illumination.
It can be convenient for common riding situations, but aftermarket auxiliary light support would have been helpful to deal with varied riding situations. Meanwhile, the tail lamp size is too small to notice from a distance, especially in daylight.
The motorcycle features hydraulic disc brakes enhanced with a dual-channel ABS feature. But a switching option could have been better to deal with varied riding situations. Moreover, considering its aggressive profile, this bike should have featured at least two riding modes to balance between economy and performance.
Next, the digital LCD ODO is a featured unit that is brightly visible both in the day and at night. It has automatic screen change features that are impressive. Besides, it displays a comprehensive range of parameters that can be navigated through dedicated handlebar switches. But we felt disappointed at a point that the displayed parameters positioning is not much eye-friendly, and often needs to search for that.
Seating, Riding, Controlling, & Handling Behavior
As a compact streetfighter, QJ Moster SRK 180 comes with a very aggressive seating and riding arrangement. The motorcycle features an attacking upright riding ergonomics featuring a sporty upright seat, upright handlebars, and an aggressively angled rider footpeg setup. That means the entire seating and riding setup is aligned for aggressive and attacking upright riding mode.
These characteristics offer very agile handling and control of the motorcycle, which is great for commuting; simultaneously, it provokes the rider to push hard to the limit and enjoy fun riding. These characteristics are obviously supportive for riding over twisted roads, in tight city traffic, or chasing hard on the paved surfaces. On the counter, these aggressive seating and riding postures are quite compromising for long highway rides.
Our Test Ride Experiences
QJ Monster SRK 180 is a very agile machine with its 145kg weight, 790mm seat height, and 190mm of ground clearance. Once you sit on the bike and grip the handlebars, you will definitely feel that it is ready to roll. Consequently, our test ride experience is also aligned with those characteristics. But riding hard over varied roads and weather conditions in our stressful test rides, we discovered varied riding experiences.
However, with its lighter weight and aggressive upright riding ergonomics, the motorcycle performed tremendously on the city roads, even in the extremely tight traffic conditions. It felt just as agile as a rabbit runs on the ground, and you will definitely enjoy the riding charm. It gives superior balance and control even on narrower and twisty roads. In these times, the brakes, suspensions, and dual-channel ABS gave us marvelous support
On the counter, it compromises its stability a bit while riding with a passenger. It is manageable in the city riding conditions, but the passenger feels extremely uncomfortable in aggressive riding situations. Meanwhile, the passenger seat of the motorcycle is very tiny and positioned much higher than the rider seat and has no grabrail support; that is clear, taking a passenger on highway rides is also awful.
Coming to the highway riding feedback, riding this machine on the highway at some point is extremely fun while chasing hard and overtaking the speedy vehicles effortlessly in our native highway traffic conditions. On the smoother paved surface, it feels fun for some hours, but riding for longer hours and also on uneven roads or in weather conditions, it turns into a painful experience.
In this situation, you must feel pain in both wrists, shoulders, and especially in the knee joints for an aggressive knee bending angle. Meanwhile, the situation gets worse in the case of carrying passengers on highway rides. However, from our assessment, this is a fun machine for city riding and solo riding, and a passenger can be carried in city rides. But obviously, this machine is not designed for stressful rides or carrying passengers on highway rides. Again, this machine better suits the riders between 5'2" to 5'8" height.
Braking & Suspension Response
The QJ Moster SRK 180 is a packed machine designed for aggressive riding on paved surfaces. The brakes attached to the bike are tremendously supportive in most riding conditions, even in the worst weather conditions. We got great support from both brakes in our varied riding. Also, the dual-channel ABS worked great during our test rides.
Coming to the suspension feedback, the suspensions are also performed well during our test rides. The suspensions are tuned in stiffer mode to support better aggressive city riding on smoother surfaces. It helps to speed up, maneuver quickly, and tackle aggressive riding.
Thus, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable on any of the city or highway rides. But due to attacking ergonomics, it gets uncomfortable while chasing uneven surfaces and riding for long hours. Meanwhile, the motorcycle has a bit of rear wheel skidding tendency due to its aggressive design. It gets more visible on uneven traps, in times of hard braking, chasing extreme corners, and also in wet and uneven surface conditions.
Engine Performance and On-Road Experience
QJ Moster SRK 180 is under quarter-liter capacity machine that comes with a decently powerful 180cc engine. We have mentioned the specifications earlier. The engine is crisply responsive from the initial RPM range and runs smoothly at any gear condition. The gear ratio is very consistent and clutch operation is also outstandingly smooth.
The engine is as smooth within its operating RPM range that feels no vibration even at the top end. Most of all, clutch engagement and disengagement have no noise or clicking, and gear switching and transition are effortless and smooth. However, this characteristic is appreciable where noisy clutch and gear operation is very common in China-made machines.
Meanwhile, we’re very impressed by this engine’s characteristics and that nicely matches the motorcycle profile. But one thing we’re very confused; the throttle response is not linear in its RPM range. The throttle curve frustratingly drops somewhere in the middle RPM range.
Therefore, the throttle response at lower and higher RPM is really commendable, but the middle RPM response is a fuss. In the middle RPM range, the motor response feels airy, and usable power is absent there. Perhaps its ECU has been tuned that way and requires proper ECU tweaking considering our riding conditions, but it is frustrating.
Again, the engine requires quality fuel always. Poor fuel quality has a notable impact on the throttle response, and at that time, the engine feels harsh in its operating range. Moreover, the motorcycle has a bit of throttle lag issue, and that increases while using poor-quality fuel. So, these are the concerns with this engine, but the engine is responsive enough to ride it with fun.
Road-Tested Performance Figures
The SRK 180 is an aggressive street-naked machine. Actually, it is compactly designed for fun riding and limited for longer highway rides. It performs tremendously, especially on the city roads. Therefore, it can accelerate faster, but the top speed is limited to a certain range.
We tried several times to check the top speed, but we found it limited to around 116km/h. We gained this speed almost effortlessly, but over that, it restricts to clock up on the ODO. However, after several attempts, we could touch the top speed of 125km/h, and we guess it would be possible every time if the ECU restriction were somehow disabled.
On the fuel economy concerns, QJ Moster SRK 180 gave us an interesting result. During our test rides, we pushed the motorcycle seriously on the highway and somewhat tortured it on the city roads. During these sessions, the fuel economy dropped until 22-24km/l but when we rode smoothly twisting the throttle in a peaceful manner, the fuel economy increased to 26-28km/l.
Verdict – BikeBD Opinion
So here we came to a verdict on QJ Moster SRK 180. According to our assessment, it’s a tightly packed machine that can be considered a city bike and a solo riding machine as well. You can take it to the highway, but long-distance riding or stressful riding is awful and discouraged. Moreover, if you're considering riding with a passenger, it's going to give you an awful experience.
But if you’re between 5'2" to 5'8" height and consider it a fun machine, riding in the city or solo on highways, it will make you smile ear to ear. The quick throttle response, instant torque delivery, smooth gear shifts, and light clutch operation will make your ride joyful even in dense traffic. It easily slips through tight spaces, handles U-turns effortlessly, and provides excellent control and grip over the bike, which is really an awesome experience.
