The new Hero Xtreme 160R is the all-new machine in the Hero product line for the year 2020. The machine came in the queue in the success of Xtreme Sports 150. It packed tight with features to give a better answer to the 160cc segment of the motorcycles. Hero profiled the new Xtreme 160R as a compact streetfighter with all-new naked-street features and ergonomics.

At the look, it’s a tightly muscled and compact paneled street-naked motorcycle. Top to bottom it got all-new exterior and ergonomics that unmatched with any other models in the row. Here the headlamp is completely a new unit that featured with a multi-pit LED lamp and LED DRL setup.

The head-top mounted ODO is fully digital with impressive Inverted LCD Console. The cluster is fully loaded with digital parameters & gadgets. Matching with the head, the tail is also compact. The H-Signed LED taillamp designed aggressive including all-LED blinker setup. It also enhanced with hazard light features.

At the body profile, the new Xtreme 160R designed compact with a bloated designed metal fuel tank. The tank is impressively covered with plastic shrouds that extended up to the middle as the integrated side panels. Here the seat is a single-piece unit but it segmented through the sporty 3-D curves. Matching with the same the grabrail is also integrated besides the panel back.

At the overall look, the new Xtreme 160R truly describes the word “Compact”. Matching with the same the exhaust is also a bold but a compact unit. It literally highlights the sporty and muscled profile of the bike. Coming to the rests, every part of the bike is nicely matched, curved, sporty, and well designed.

Frame, Wheel, Brake, & Suspension System

In the frame, wheel, brake, and suspension system, the new Hero Xtreme 160R comes with an all-new setup. It designed on an all-new frame that is a newly designed Tubular Diamond frame. In the wheels, the motorcycle comes with 10-spoke all-alloy rims that include the tubeless type of tires. The tires are 100/18-17 and 130/70-17 in size respectively in the front and rear.

In the braking system, both the wheels of the motorcycle featured with hydraulic disk type of brakes. Here the conventional drum-type brake also available at the rear of the motorcycle as an option. Furthermore, the new machine is also enhanced with Single-Channel ABS that attached to its front wheel.

The new Xtreme 160R also comes with some refinement in its suspension systems. It comes with a broader 37mm upright telescopic fork suspension in the front. At the rear, the setup is mono that also enhanced with 7-steps adjustability. Meanwhile, the SHOWA made front suspension also is featured with the antifriction bush system.

Handling and Riding Features

In the handling and riding features the new Hero Xtreme 160R profiled with decent and comfort ensuring features. The riding ergonomics seems quite alike sporty upright. The handlebar is a single-piece pipe handlebar that positioned in upright mode. The seating is also quite upright with a 790mm lower saddle height.

The sporty pillion seat is raised into an upper level than the lowered rider seat. Hence ensuring the sporty profile in the bike the comfort level seems didn’t sacrificed. There the grabrails notches are also featured intelligently, where those are panel-mounted both sides of the rear.

In the other features, the motorcycle is featured with standard 139.5kg of weight and 167mm of ground clearance. Moreover, the suspensions are better tuned ensuring comfortable urban rides. Further in the wheels, the wider radial tires are featured for better on-road grip and fuel mileage.

The new Hero Xtreme 160R comes with a 163cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine. It’s an OHV 2-valve engine that featured with the Advanced Programmed Fuel Injection system. The engine can be ignited with both kick and electric start system. Here the transmission system is designed with a return type 5-speed gear setup.

This new 163cc engine is tweaked for better power delivery ensuring maximum fuel economy. Hence the engine can deliver the maximum power of 11.2kW and the torque of 14NM. According to the promotional campaign of Hero, the Xtreme 160 can reach 0-60 km/h just within 4.7 seconds. Hence 139.5kg light-weighted pack can deal better with the modem youngsters' needs.
