Does the Yamaha YZF R15 V3 have ABS?
The Yamaha R15 V3 has two variants available in Bangladesh. They are:
- Indonesian.
- Indian.
Indonesian Version:
The Indonesian version of the Yamaha R15 V3 comes with the same design specs of the bike. The engine specs of this bike are the same as that of the Indian version. It spits out about 19.3BHP at 10000RPM and 14.7NM at 8500RPM.
However, the major changes come in two ends of the bike. One is the suspension and the other is the braking system. The front forks of the Yamaha R15 V3 are upside down, which makes the bikes suspension quite stiff. This makes the bike quite stable at the corners, but quite painful on potholes.
The Yamaha R15 V3 Indonesian version does not have any form of Anti-lock braking system (ABS). The reason behind this is unknown, as Yamaha has not released any statement regarding this decision. However, this is not very problematic, as the Yamaha R15 V3 has decent braking.
Indian Version:
The Yamaha R15 V3 Indian version is very much similar to the Indonesian version of the bike. It comes with the same engine specs, has the same power and torque figure.
The differences are in the suspension and the braking system. The front forks of the Yamaha R15 V3 Indian version is of regular form. This makes the bike a bit more pothole friendly, and this makes this bike more suitable for India and Bangladesh, as there are more potholes in these two countries.
The braking system of the Yamaha R15 V3 is the Anti-lock braking system (ABS). It has dual-channel ABS, which means the front and rear both have ABS. This allows for very smooth braking in any form of road.
Conclusion:
The R15 V3 has two variants. One of the variants has ABS, while the other doesn’t. There are not many explanations as to why there are different versions of the bike, but it allows for people with different preferences to choose among these two versions.
