The Yamaha R15 V3 is a fantastic bike with fantastic features. The Yamaha R15 V3 is one of the most popular motorcycles in the South Asian region. The Yamaha R15 V3 has ABS, slipper clutch and many more features that would excite any biker. The Yamaha R15 V3 is the product of Yamaha, which is one of the Japanese Giants. Yamaha Bike has spent quite a lot on R&D for this. That is why the Yamaha R15 V3 has been ruling the streets for so long.
Can I lower the Yamaha R15 V3 seat height in any way?
The Yamaha R15 V3 comes with a fuel Injected engine with liquid cooling. The engine spits out about 19BHP of power at 10000RPM and 14.7NM of torque at 8500RPM. The power and torque combination of this bike is unparalleled. As previously mentioned, the Yamaha R15 V3 comes with dual channel ABS, which allows for top of the line braking. The Yamaha R15 V3 also comes with a Slip and Assist clutch system which allows for an easy gear shifting experience. However, the seat of the Yamaha R15 V3 is quite tall at 815mm, which makes it quite difficult for short riders to mount the Yamaha R15 V3.
The height of the Yamaha R15 V3 is suitable for riders who are taller than 5’3”. Anyone shorter than that will have difficulties riding this bike in stock. However, there is one option for these riders which can change the seat height of the riders. There are two small half-circular pads that can be changed. These pads are connected between the chassis and the suspension.
These pads change the height of the bike and also the height of the seats. Any rider who is taller than 5’2” will be comfortable with the bike after the pads are changed. However, anyone shorter than 5’1” will still find this bike too tall for them. The natural seat height of the bike changes from 815mm to about 785mm. The pillion seat of the bike will also come down quite a lot. This will also make shorter pillions much more comfortable in mounting the bike and riding it.
However, this change in the seat height will also change the clearance of the bike. If the seat height decreases by nearly 30mm, the clearance of the bike will also decrease by 5-10mm. This change in clearance will affect the kinds of bumps that you will be able to cover.
All in all, yes, you can change the seat height of the Yamaha R15 V3. Will it affect your riding quality for the better? Yes. Will it affect your everyday riding through a city such as Dhaka? Yes. Will you have problems with speed bumps? Yes. But will it be a bit more comfortable for you and your pillion in the long run? Maybe, depends on your point of view.
