The New Bajaj Discover 125 st is the latest addition of the market in Bajaj’s latest line of new line of bikes. It is a fine machine that has taken the market in a splash. The following is a short review of the magnificent bike. This Bajaj Discover 125 ST Review was done on behalf of the BikeBD team by Md Noor Imtiaz.

The New Bajaj Discover 125ST is the larger more stable version of the cream of the Bajaj Discover platform. Its presence marks the new beginning of the Discover series.

Styling:

With the bigger and design, the Discover movers towards more manly market. With a sleek tail light and better indicators and edgy headlight assembly, more has the feel of the Bajaj pulsar 135 ls.The rear is better shown than that of the Discovers Japanese counterparts, Specially the curved exhaust and the rear split Mudguard.

The headlight and the front fairing are a nice blend of the old gen Pulsar and the new 200NS. The front mudguard has a nice chiselled look and adds a lot of character to the front of the bike.

Ergonomics:

Seating is the big positive of the Bajaj Discover 125 St, for the pulsar derived seating system allows for a better riding experience. The wide handle bar adds to its design. Knee place is also comfortable and makes for a good long ride.

Instrument & Gear:

The Instrument panel, with three dials, one for speedometer, odometer and trip meter has a kind of flashy look to it. The Tachometer is not present. And all the other general presence of a normal bike meter is there, sin the oil gauge, turn indicator etc. Though the design is less then enthusiastic.

Performance:

The Discover ST is powered by a 125cc DTSi, 4-valve, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine with corrugated fins which pumps out 12.8 BHP of power at 9000 RPM and 10.78 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The corrugated engine fins not only aid heat transfer by 28 per cent but also increase horsepower by 15 per cent.  All over a smooth engine with fine throttle response and movement but has a certain vibration to it. Has a speed of 85 KMPH standards but won’t go over 105 KMPH.

Gear:

The Bajaj Discover 125 st has a 5 speed gear box but performs best only in the third and fifth gear. Gives a mileage of 60 in highway and 50/55 in traffic.

Ride:

The Discover's Riding is impeccable; The riding of the rear wheel depends on the new design of the single spring shock absorber that allows for a better riding. it has the largest ground clearance of the bikes in this series. With 17 inch Alloy wheels, the riding is supposed to be great and the handling speaks for itself.

A piggyback nitrox gas canister takes care of the damping. The rigid chassis and the monoshock suspension set-up give the Discover 125 ST a very nimble feel. The rear tyre is too thin for corning and for a bike that has this much power that was a bad choice.
