The former company of Atlas Bangladesh Limited (ABL) the Siraji Group was incorporated as a private company in 1966. It was founded and owned by a then West Pakistani entrepreneur in technical collaboration with Honda, Japan. After the liberation of East Pakistan, the Bangladeshi branch of the company nationalized as a government-owned corporation in 1972. 

Right now Atlas Bangladesh Limited (ABL) is an individual concern positioned under the government-owned corporation, Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) that located in Tongi, Gazipur, Dhaka. In 1987 the concern converted as a Public Limited Company by selling its 49% share to the general public.

In the business activities, Atlas Bangladesh is involved in importing, assembling, limited range of manufacturing, and distributing motorcycle products in Bangladesh. In the earlier time, the company used to import and market motorcycles only. Later they involved in assembling and limited range of manufacturing motorcycles. 

In 1993 Atlas Bangladesh signed an agreement with Hero Honda, India to assemble their motorcycle and distribute the same in the market of Bangladesh. The joint agreement continued until 2013 when Hero Honda split into two companies and entered into the Bangladeshi market as separate companies named Hero MotoCorp and Bangladesh Honda Pvt. Limited.

Currently Atlas Bangladesh Limited is in partnership with the Chinese motorcycle manufacturing company Zongshen that holding from 2012. Under the agreement, ABL assembles and markets the Zongshen branded motorcycles in Bangladesh. Including Zongshen, ABL is now also partnered with TVS Auto Bangladesh from February 2019.

Under the joint agreement with TVS Auto Bangladesh, TVS motorcycles are being assembled in the newly established assembly line of Atlas Bangladesh. Hence under the contract assembly, the assembled TVS motorcycles will be sold both by Atlas and TVS Bangladesh through their own distribution channels not interrupting other’s customers.

Atlas Bangladesh Limited is continuing its business in import, assembly, and partial manufacturing of two-wheeler and a few three-wheeler products. Hence Atlas Bangladesh currently is maintaining its separate product line under the motorcycle brand Zongshen.

Under the Zongshen brand, ABL is marketing several motorcycle models in the category of Commuter, Street-Naked, Cruiser, and Scooter. Side-by-side Atlas currently also is showcasing a range of TVS motorcycle models which they are assembling in their dedicated assembly lines.

In the other products, Atlas also is manufacturing a limited range of motorcycle parts and accessories like fuel, oil, and air filters for other motorcycle brands.
