Is the Yamaha R15 V3 comfortable for a lady passenger?

Yamaha R15 V3

The Yamaha R15 V3 is a powerful motorcycle with abundant power for heavy traffic and small roads. The Yamaha R15 V3 comes with 19BHP of power at 10000RPM and 14.7NM of torque at 8500RPM. The Yamaha R15 V3 has a monoshock suspension and regular telescopic forks at the front. The bike also gets fuel injection and liquid cooling. It also has an assist and slipper clutch

Now that we know about the specs about the bike and the history of it, we can move on to the main question.

The pillion seat of the Yamaha R15 V3 is undoubtedly small. However, the seat is not completely uncomfortable, as it is soft and has grippy material. The Yamaha R15 V3 also has a very high rear end. The high rear end makes it tough for people to climb the bike. The seat is made higher for two purposes; one is to make it look sportier, and second is to make the bike more aerodynamic. The high rear makes it quite difficult for anyone shorter than 5’6” to climb the bike. If anyone is taller than 5’6” it would be a bit easier for them.

After the climb, if females are planning on sitting on the bike with their feet in one direction, as most women do in the South Asian region, in that case they would not have any place to put both their feet on. This can be solved by modifying the bike by adding an extra space for the feet. Even after the modification, due to the angle of the rear seat, the pillion might end up putting pressure on the rider for support, which will be quite painful for the rider. This might affect the ride quality of both the rider and the pillion.

If the female pillion is willing to ride with one foot on each side of the bike, in that case the pillion would end up putting pressure on the rider as well. This is because the Yamaha R15 V3 does not have any dedicated grab rails at the rear, which will make the pillion use the rider as the support during fast rides. This will again affect the rider. This will also be uncomfortable for the pillion, as the pillion will be required to lean with the rider, which will also affect their back.

However, according to regular riders, if the pillion and the rider has become accustomed to the kind of ride the Yamaha R15 V3 is, then they will feel a little less uncomfortable.

In conclusion, the R15 V3 is not the best bike for pillion rides, neither for men nor for women. However, if you are accustomed to the kind of ride it is, the ride might be a bit less uncomfortable for you.
